Welcome to our care home... Dragonfly Cove is dedicated to all the kiddos in our lives:D You will see various pictures of our kiddos learning through play in their "every day" life♥ We've created a hygge atmosphere ~ find out more about that in the blog if you haven't heard this term before♥ We love to see your thoughts and comments!:D

This blog is a living, growing record of our kiddos during this beautiful time in our lives together. Here we document and share the unique experiences, ideas and inspirations enriching our lives and the children in our care. Memories and experiences are the greatest gifts we can bestow on our children... thank you for embarking on this continuing journey with us... Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass... it's about getting out there and dancing in the rain♥

Here is an excerpt from "How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years" which directly pertains to our blog here:)
"a means of sharing perspectives with parents and colleagues. When families and others are invited to contribute to the documentation and share their own interpretations, it can provide even more insights that children, educators, and families can return to, reflect on, and remember in order to extend learning."

Thanks so much for making this shared journey so memorable and so very special... lots of love♥

♥May 2017♥

On a wet spring day, the kiddos had the opportunity to observe this cute little guy:D He came for a visit to eat some yummy nuts left out for him;) FYI, I received the nuts from a well-meaning person who was unaware of my peanut allergies... They made a great snack and observational opportunity for the kids:D

The kids look forward to our participation in these annual activities.  We are getting our Provincial Park pass as well and we have already acquired our Canada Parks pass for Canada's sesquicentennial:D
We were privileged to attend the first ever Comic-Con in Orillia! It was hosted by Dr. Comics! This Comic-Con will be an annual event and an awesome addition to our wonderful, creative hub we call home:)
Orillia was waiting for an event of this scale for a long time!:D Awesome turnout to our first Comic-Con! These are the lines behind and in front of our little group at the start of Orillia Comic-Con:)

There is always loads of coverage of the "bigger names" at these kinds of events... so I thought I would focus on some of the less known peeps doing their thing at this great event:D Emmanuelle Chateauneuf was one of my favourites! This lovely lady from Ontario has written and illustrated this semi-autobiographical tale of a mother and daughter and is currently working on her second book!:D Keep us posted Emmanuelle... we're following your journey:) http://www.thebatmanni.com/

My Hubby's pick for supporting new artists:) I'm awaiting information for him to hopefully post soon:)

The kids were really excited about this one so you know perler beads will be back on our list of activities to do this summer:D

Fidget spinners;)

My eldest son is over the moon happy with his new sword:D He is ready to take on Hyrule;) Fire and Steel were busy but ready to help with friendly customer service:) ... my son wants the shield;) #RealFireNSteel — with Fire and Steel

The kids picked out their summer reading book marks:)

How sweet would it be to take a bat-mobile for a spin;) — with Brampton Batman

"Birding" in our own back yard♥

Deanna and the baby Mourning Dove♥
The bird calmly watching her, listening to her voice...
as she watched the bird, listening to his chirps:)
We are very blessed to dwell in the middle of a forested area...
nature submersion♥

"Children are fascinated by nature discovery. When parents revisit natural
wonders through the eyes of children, we’re reminded that life, when all is said
and done, is still infinitely remarkable. Taking time to really get to know the birds
who share our habitat is a wonderful pastime for families. It’s good, clean fun, and
builds values of respect and compassion for nature and all living things."
